Polypodium cambricum - Southern Polypody (RHS AGM) P11

An attractive native fern with wintergreen fronds. The rarer of the native polypodys, found mainly in the south of Ireland. One of the Meditterannean-Atlantic element of Irish flora, it is found at the base and on limestone walls, and also as an epiphyte on trees. The fronds grow up to 60cm long giving an impressive look. perfect for stumperies, the border or fringing stone walls. Could be a good canditate for hanging baskets and living walls too, it will slowly creep to create a green ruffled carpet.

Best in shade or partial shade in well drained soil.
