Erythronium dens-canis 'Lilac Wonder' P9

Erythronium dens-canis ‘Lilac Wonder’ is a charming deciduous, spring-flowering bulbous perennial, prized for its elegant, nodding lilac-pink flowers with gracefully swept-back petals and distinctive chocolate-brown markings at the throat.

Flowering in March and April, the delicate blooms rise above pairs of beautifully marbled, green and purple-brown leaves, which provide an attractive display even before the flowers appear.

Growing approximately 15–20cm tall and 10–15cm wide, this compact woodland plant gradually forms attractive colonies when left undisturbed. Grow in partial or dappled shade in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, avoiding prolonged dryness during the growing season.

An excellent choice for woodland gardens, shady borders, rock gardens and naturalising beneath deciduous trees and shrubs, ‘Lilac Wonder’ brings early-season colour to smaller spaces.
