Uncinia uncinata 'Rubra' P11 (1.3 litre)

Uncinia uncinata ‘Rubra’ – Red Hook Sedge

Uncinia uncinata ‘Rubra’ is a compact, evergreen ornamental sedge forming a dense tuft of striking mahogany-red to bronze foliage. The narrow, arching leaves provide year-round colour, while slender dark-brown flower spikes appear in summer. Growing to around 25–30cm high and 30–40cm wide, it is ideal for containers, edging, gravel gardens and the front of partially shaded borders.

Grow in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil. The best foliage colour develops with good light, although some protection from harsh conditions is beneficial. It prefers a sheltered position and may need winter protection in colder areas.
