Hosta 'First Blush' P11 (1.3 litre)

Hosta 'First Blush'

Hosta 'First Blush' is an exceptional, compact, deciduous perennial and one of the first Hostas developed with genuine red colouring in its leaves. Emerging in spring with striking dark red stems, its heart-shaped green leaves develop a beautiful reddish-purple blush between the veins, complemented by fine red margins. Spikes of lavender-purple, bell-shaped flowers appear in late summer.

Growing approximately 30–35cm tall and spreading 50–60cm wide, this hardy, clump-forming Hosta thrives in partial to full shade, preferring fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.

Ideal for woodland gardens, shaded borders and patio containers, Hosta 'First Blush' is a remarkable choice for collectors and gardeners seeking unusual foliage colours. Its distinctive red-tinted leaves and contrasting dark stems bring exceptional spring interest to shady planting schemes.
