Hosta 'Party Popper'

Hosta ‘Party Popper’ – Variegated Plantain Lily

Hosta ‘Party Popper’ is a beautiful deciduous, shade-loving perennial, prized for its thick, slightly wavy blue-green leaves with distinctive flame-shaped golden-yellow centres that gradually mature to creamy white. A sport of Hosta ‘Catherine’, its substantial foliage offers good resistance to slug damage, while attractive spikes of lavender-purple, bell-shaped flowers appear in midsummer.

Growing approximately 30–35cm tall and 40–50cm wide, this compact hosta thrives in partial to full shade, preferring fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.

An excellent choice for woodland gardens, shady borders, containers and planting alongside ferns and other shade-loving perennials, ‘Party Popper’ provides striking foliage colour and contrast from spring until autumn.
