Hosta 'Blue Mammoth' RHS AGM 2 litre

Hosta ‘Blue Mammoth’ – Giant Blue Plantain Lily

Hosta ‘Blue Mammoth’ is a magnificent deciduous, shade-loving perennial, prized for its enormous, thick, heart-shaped powdery blue-green leaves, beautifully textured with deep veins and gentle corrugations. I

n summer, tall flower stems carry clusters of pale lavender to almost white, bell-shaped flowers above the impressive foliage.

Growing approximately 80–100cm tall and 120–150cm wide, this giant hosta forms a spectacular spreading mound, making it an outstanding specimen for woodland gardens, large shady borders and planting beside ponds.

Grow in partial to full shade in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, preferably sheltered from strong winds. Its substantial leaves offer relatively good resistance to slug damage, although protection may still be necessary.
