Hakonechloa macra 'Nicolas' P9

A recent and fabulous variety for giving the moist, shady border a Japanese lift! It grows into a compact, cascading mound, about 40cm high and 40cm wide.

The foliage is green in spring and summer, turning brilliant shades of red, orange and gold as temperatures fall in autumn before dying back for winter. Its compact habit also makes it an excellent choice for containers. ‘Nicolas’ prefers partial shade but will tolerate full shade. Cut back to ground level in late winter or early spring before new growth appears. A low-maintenance ornamental grass that combines beautifully with ferns and Japanese maples
