Cyclamen hederifolium 'Album' P9

Cyclamen hederifolium ‘Album’

This is a beautiful, autumn-flowering hardy cyclamen, producing elegant, pure white flowers with gracefully swept-back petals from September to November. The flowers often appear before the attractive ivy-shaped foliage, which is marbled with silver and pale green. The leaves persist throughout winter and spring, providing valuable ground cover before the plant enters summer dormancy.

Height: 5–10cm

Position: Partial shade to shade

Soil: Humus-rich, well-drained soil; tolerates dry shade once established

Flowering: September–November

Foliage: Deciduous (summer dormant)

An outstanding choice for woodland gardens, shaded borders and naturalising beneath deciduous trees and shrubs. Once established, it readily self-seeds in suitable conditions, gradually forming enchanting carpets of white autumn flowers followed by beautifully patterned winter foliage. Its tolerance of dry shade makes it especially valuable for difficult planting areas beneath trees.
