Aconitum fischeri- Fischer's Monkshood P11 (1.3 litre)
€6.95
A striking herbaceous perennial from Siberia (it must be hardy!) and Korea, with violet blue hooded flowers atop dark green foliage. It flowers over a long period, from late August through to October. The hoods give it a Traitor feel, appropriate due to the plants poisonous nature.
It provides a strong vertical element with plantings as the tall flowering spikes, up to 70cm, with the stunning flowers punctuate the visual journey. The stems are sturdy and shouldn't require staking, but if you want them for flower arrangement (they are superb for this) then you may want to secure them to keep the stem straight.
Give it a deep rich soil in full sun or partial shade. Think a damp woodland area and you would have their perfect habitat.
