Crocosmia ‘Paul’s Best Yellow’ RHS AGM

Crocosmia ‘Paul’s Best Yellow’ – Montbretia

Crocosmia ‘Paul’s Best Yellow’ is a spectacular deciduous, summer-flowering perennial, prized for its magnificent arching sprays of large, bright golden-yellow flowers, which emerge from attractive orange-tinted buds. Flowering from July to September, its elegant, tubular blooms are carried on strong stems above handsome clumps of upright, sword-shaped green leaves.

Growing approximately 1.1–1.5m tall and 50–100cm wide, this vigorous, clump-forming perennial makes a striking architectural feature in sunny borders, cottage gardens, prairie-style planting and naturalistic gardens. Grow in full sun or light partial shade in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, ideally sheltered from strong winds. Particularly attractive when planted in groups, its long-lasting flowers are also excellent for cutting.

RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM) – awarded in 2016.
