A gorgeously coloured and veined Sarracenia, not often seen. The typical purpurea pitchers are coloured a rich red which extends into the veining of the hood. The pitchers will grow to about 30cm, the maroon-red flowers to 60cm.
Can be grown indoors on a sunny windowsill, sitting in a saucer of rainwater, or outside in a sunny spot such as floating on a pond. If growing indoors give them a few months of cold in the winter to allow dormancy.
