Pachyphragma macrophyllum P11

Pachyphragma macrophyllum – Large-leaved Pachyphragma

Pachyphragma macrophyllum is a hardy, semi-evergreen woodland perennial forming attractive clumps of rounded, scalloped green leaves. In early to mid-spring, clusters of small, crisp white four-petalled flowers rise above the foliage, making it an excellent plant for brightening shady areas.

Growing to around 30–50cm high and 60–100cm wide, it makes useful ground cover beneath trees and shrubs and in woodland or shady borders.

Grow in partial or full shade in fertile, humus-rich soil that remains moist but well drained. I

t is easy to grow, very hardy and combines particularly well with ferns, hostas, epimediums and spring bulbs.
