Ophiopogon japonicus 'Silver Comet' P11 (1.3 litre)

Ophiopogon japonicus ‘Silver Comet’ – Variegated Mondo Grass

Ophiopogon japonicus ‘Silver Comet’ is a compact evergreen perennial, prized for its slender, arching, dark green leaves elegantly striped with silvery-white. The attractive, grass-like foliage forms neat, slowly spreading clumps, providing year-round colour and texture. Delicate, bell-shaped white flowers appear in summer, followed by attractive blue berries in autumn.

Growing approximately 10–20cm tall, it thrives in partial to full shade, preferring moist, humus-rich, well-drained, acidic to neutral soil. It tolerates some sunshine provided adequate moisture is maintained.

An excellent choice for shady borders, woodland gardens, ground cover, pathway edging, rock gardens and containers. Particularly effective alongside ferns, hostas and dark-leaved plants such as Ophiopogon planiscapus ‘Nigrescens’.

Hardy to approximately −15°C
