Hosta 'Zebra Stripes'

Hosta ‘Zebra Stripes’ is a striking variegated hosta for shade, prized for its unusual leaves that emerge almost white before developing contrasting green stripes, veins and markings as the season progresses.

This medium-sized hosta forms a compact mound approximately 25–30cm tall and up to 60–70cm wide, with elegant lavender-purple flowers appearing on slender stems in summer. For the best foliage, grow Hosta ‘Zebra Stripes’ in partial shade or dappled shade in fertile, humus-rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil; avoid hot afternoon sun, which can scorch the pale leaves.

Hardy and easy to grow, it is an excellent shade plant for woodland gardens, shady borders, containers and planting beneath trees and shrubs, providing exceptional foliage interest from spring through autumn.
