Hosta ‘Diamond Lake’ – Blue Plantain Lily

Hosta ‘Diamond Lake’ is a magnificent deciduous, shade-loving perennial, prized for its enormous, heart-shaped steel-blue leaves with deeply corrugated surfaces and beautifully rippled margins. The thick, heavily textured foliage forms an impressive spreading mound, while elegant spikes of pale lavender-purple, bell-shaped flowers appear in summer.

Growing approximately 60–75cm tall and 120–135cm wide when fully mature, this architectural hosta thrives in partial to full shade, preferring fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil. An outstanding specimen for woodland gardens, large shady borders, containers and planting alongside ferns and other shade-loving perennials, ‘Diamond Lake’ provides spectacular foliage interest from spring until autumn.
