Helleborus x hybridus 'Double Ellen Green' P11 (1.3 litre)

Helleborus × hybridus 'Double Ellen Green' – Double Green Lenten Rose

Helleborus × hybridus 'Double Ellen Green', commonly known as Double Green Lenten Rose, is a beautiful, hardy, semi-evergreen perennial prized for its elegant, fully double, lime-green flowers. Appearing from February to April, the gently nodding, cup-shaped blooms feature layers of softly ruffled green petals, often delicately spotted with maroon. Rising above attractive, leathery, dark green foliage, the flowers bring welcome, classy, colour to the garden in late winter and early spring.

Forming a compact clump approximately 35–45 cm high and wide, this reliable hellebore thrives in partial shade, preferring fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, ideally neutral to alkaline.

Perfect for woodland gardens, shaded borders, underplanting shrubs and winter containers, it combines beautifully with ferns, hostas and spring bulbs.

An excellent, low-maintenance choice for year-round interest in Irish gardens.
