Hosta 'Catherine' 1.3 litre

Hosta ‘Catherine’

Hosta ‘Catherine’ is a beautiful, medium-sized deciduous perennial, prized for its excellent slug-resistance, and striking blue-green, pointed leaves with contrasting golden-yellow centres that gradually mature to creamy yellow. The attractive, slightly upright foliage forms a neat, spreading mound, bringing colour and brightness to shaded gardens. Elegant spikes of pale lavender, bell-shaped flowers rise above the foliage in late summer.

Growing approximately 40cm tall and 70cm wide, this hardy, clump-forming hosta thrives in partial shade, preferring moist, fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil. A sheltered position with protection from strong afternoon sunshine helps maintain its beautiful variegated foliage.

An excellent choice for woodland gardens, shady borders, containers and naturalistic planting, ‘Catherine’ provides attractive foliage contrast, particularly when planted alongside ferns and dark green hostas.
