Hosta 'Blue Mouse Ears' RHS AGM P11 (1.3 litre)

Hosta ‘Blue Mouse Ears’ – Miniature Plantain Lily

Hosta ‘Blue Mouse Ears’ is a charming miniature deciduous perennial, prized for its distinctive, thick, rounded blue-green leaves resembling tiny mouse ears. The smooth, slightly cupped foliage forms a neat, compact mound, while attractive spikes of pale lavender-purple, bell-shaped flowers rise above the leaves in summer.

Growing approximately 15–20cm tall and 25–30cm wide, this exceptionally hardy, clump-forming hosta thrives in partial to full shade, preferring moist, fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Its unusually thick, substantial leaves offer some resistance to slug and snail damage.

An excellent choice for shady rock gardens, miniature woodland gardens, containers, troughs and the front of shaded borders, ‘Blue Mouse Ears’ provides beautiful foliage colour and texture. Particularly attractive alongside miniature ferns and other small shade-loving perennials.
