Erythronium ‘Pagoda’ – Yellow Dog's Tooth Violet
Erythronium ‘Pagoda’ is a beautiful deciduous, spring-flowering bulbous perennial, prized for its elegant, nodding creamy-yellow flowers with gracefully swept-back petals, golden-yellow stamens and subtle brown markings at the centre.
Flowering in April and May, each slender stem can carry up to ten flowers above attractive, glossy green leaves delicately mottled with bronze.
Growing approximately 30–35cm tall and gradually forming generous clumps, this vigorous Erythronium thrives in partial or dappled shade, preferring fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil that does not dry out excessively.
An outstanding choice for woodland gardens, shady borders, naturalising beneath deciduous trees and spring bulb collections, ‘Pagoda’ combines beautifully with emerging ferns, hostas and other woodland perennials.
