Epimedium ‘Domino’ is a wonderfully bold and lively barrenwort, combining elegance with a dash of mischief. Growing 30–45 cm tall, it forms a spreading clump of delicate, wiry stems topped with airy sprays of star-like flowersin spring. The blooms are a striking mix of creamy white petals with deep maroon spurs, giving them a delightfully exotic, dancing appearance. The heart-shaped leaves emerge flushed bronze-red, mature to green, and often take on warm autumnal tones later in the year.

It thrives in partial to full shade, in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil, and is wonderfully drought-tolerant once established — ideal for brightening tricky dry shade under trees or shrubs.

Interesting fact: Epimediums are sometimes called “fairy wings” or “bishop’s hats” thanks to their unusually shaped flowers — a whimsical touch that makes ‘Domino’ feel like the life of the shade-garden party.

Awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit (RHS AGM).
