Dryopteris affinis 'Polydactyla Dadds' Many Fingered Male Fern P9

Dryopteris affinis ‘Polydactyla Dadds’

Dryopteris affinis ‘Polydactyla Dadds’ is a distinctive, semi-evergreen hardy fern, prized for its elegant, upright to arching fronds and unusual, finely fingered tips. The rich green, deeply divided fronds feature narrow, repeatedly forked tips that spread into delicate, finger-like tassels. An attractive architectural feature in shaded planting schemes.

An excellent choice for woodland gardens, shaded borders and naturalistic planting beneath trees and shrubs, Dryopteris affinis ‘Polydactyla Dadds’ combines the toughness of the traditional Male Fern with strikingly ornamental foliage. Its distinctive fingered fronds contrast beautifully with broad-leaved hostas, hellebores, epimediums and other shade-loving perennials.
