Disporopsis fuscopicta- Evergreen Solomon Seal P11

Disporopsis fuscopicta – Chinese Evergreen Solomon’s Seal

Disporopsis fuscopicta is an unusual and highly attractive evergreen woodland perennial, prized for its elegant arching stems, glossy deep green leaves and distinctive purple-speckled stems.

In spring, delicate creamy-white to pale green, bell-shaped flowers, beautifully marked with brownish-purple inside, hang beneath the foliage, adding subtle charm to this fascinating shade-loving plant.

Growing to approximately 40–60cm tall and 40–50cm wide, it gradually forms attractive clumps, providing valuable year-round structure and ground cover. Grow in partial to full shade in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, preferably in a sheltered position.

An excellent choice for woodland gardens, shady borders, planting beneath trees and specialist shade plant collections, particularly alongside ferns, hostas and other woodland perennials.
