One of those valuable plants in the garden that just do their thing with no fuss and bother!
A spreading deciduous perennial with low mound of rounded leaves with plentiful star shapes flowers coloured violet blue from late spring through summer. It halls from the Balkans, preferring well drained soils. They don't like the soil to dry out completely so, if the soil does get dry they do well if mulched with gravel initially. Soon the foliage will shade the soil sufficiently.
They need little care, for best results trim back after they have flowered to keep them compact
They do well in sun or partial shade. Also a good choice for coastal planting.
