A delightful hardy (Dahlia hardy) ground orchid with red buds opening to cream yellow flowers with orange striped lower lips and a touch of purple backing. To get repeat flowering grow in well drained, moisture retentive soil. In cold areas, such as the midlands, it may be best to lift in the autumn and store as Dahlias. For milder areas a good mulch of leaf mould in the autumn will help protect the bulb from deep frost and winter wet. They also do well in containers, keep frost free in winter and water and feed freely when in active growth. It will grow about 60cm in height. A real show stopper once it starts spreading (this does take a while though!)
