Bletilla striata 'Alba' 1 litre

Bletilla striata ‘Alba’, also known as the White Chinese Ground Orchid or Hardy Orchid, is a beautiful deciduous terrestrial orchid producing elegant, star-shaped white flowers with a subtle pale lilac lip from late spring into early summer.

Growing to around 30–50cm tall, it forms a clump of attractive, pleated green leaves and is surprisingly hardy for an orchid, rated H4 by the RHS (hardy to around -10°C to -5°C).

It thrives in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil in partial shade, ideally in a sheltered position, and is suitable for woodland-style planting, cottage gardens, flower borders and containers.
