Bergenia ‘Jelle’ – Elephant’s Ears

Bergenia ‘Jelle’ is a compact, evergreen perennial grown for its glossy, leathery green foliage and attractive white to pale pink flowers held on reddish stems in spring. The leaves often develop red-bronze tones in autumn and winter, giving useful year-round interest.

It grows to around 35–40cm high and 40–50cm wide, forming a dense clump that works well as ground cover, edging, in shady borders or beneath shrubs.

Grow in full sun or partial shade in fertile, humus-rich soil that is moist but well drained. It tolerates a wide range of soil types, including clay and chalk, and is very hardy.
