Athyrium 'Ghost' RHS AGM 2 litre

Deciduous, upright growth. Eventual height 70cm to 90cm

This is another remarkable fern and very popular, the new fronds are a very eye-catching pale silvery colour, the colour lightens as the season and the plant develops. It is a tall fern and looks very impressive with a dark background. It is a sterile hybrid, crossed from The Japanese Painted Fern and the American Lady Fern, with the vigorous nature you would expect from this combination.

Note: Younger plants have a green tinge to the foliage, especially as with these plants, they are grown in a shady environment. The silvery colour becomes stronger as the plant matures and has access to a little more light, such as dappled shade.
