Astrantia 'Pink Pride' 1.3 litre

Astrantia major ‘Pink Pride’ – Pink Masterwort

Astrantia major ‘Pink Pride’ is a hardy, deciduous perennial prized for its long flowering season and pink pincushion flowers, surrounded by a star-shaped collar of pink-flushed, green-tinted bracts. Slender, branching stems carry the flowers above deeply lobed green foliage from June to September, sometimes continuing into autumn. It forms a clump approximately 60 cm tall and 45–60 cm wide.

Grow in sun or partial shade in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil. Water during dry spells and remove faded flowering stems to encourage further blooms. Avoid deep shade and excessively dry conditions.

Beautiful in cottage gardens and partially shaded borders, ‘Pink Pride’ combines well with hardy geraniums, ferns and ornamental grasses. Its flowers are also excellent for fresh bouquets and dried arrangements.
