Saruma henryi – Upright Wild Ginger

Saruma henryi is a rare and charming Chinese woodland perennial, prized for its softly textured, heart-shaped foliage and delicate primrose-yellow flowers. The attractive, downy leaves emerge with a silvery-grey sheen, sometimes tinged with bronze, before maturing to fresh green. Unusual, three-petalled yellow flowers appear among the foliage in spring, continuing intermittently throughout summer.
