Evergreen, height 45cm, spread 60cm.
This is a fabulous evergreen fern, collected from China. It is not identified as yet and was named by Judith Jones from the famous Fancy Fronds Nursery. It is quite similar to P. neolobatum but maybe more garden friendly as the fronds seem to be more persistent in colder weather. It is a tough fern with very shiny evergreen fronds, making it suitable for containers. Once established it copes well with dry shade.
It is not too fussy about soil requirements as long as it is reasonably well drained. The thick fronds are deer resistant and their glossy nature makes them ideal for flower arranging.
