Polystichum setiferum ‘Dahlem’ P11

Polystichum setiferum ‘Dahlem’

An elegant, hardy evergreen fern with a distinctly upright habit and beautifully finely divided, feathery fronds. Emerging bright green in spring, the delicate, lacy foliage gradually deepens in colour, forming a graceful, architectural clump. New fronds unfurl beneath attractive silvery scales, adding seasonal interest.

Growing to approximately 60–80cm tall with a spread of up to 100cm, ‘Dahlem’ thrives in partial to full shade in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Exceptionally hardy and easy to grow, this ornamental fern is ideal for woodland gardens, shady borders and underplanting trees and shrubs.

An excellent choice for year-round structure and delicate foliage texture, combining beautifully with hostas, epimediums and other shade-loving perennials.
