Podophyllum 'Spotty Dotty' P11 (1.3 litre) RHS AGM

Podophyllum ‘Spotty Dotty’ – Mayapple is a spectacular woodland perennial prized for its large, umbrella-shaped leaves, heavily marked with distinctive bronze, chocolate and maroon spotting when they emerge in spring.

Growing to around 40cm tall and 30–40cm wide, it produces unusual dark red, hanging flowers beneath the foliage in late spring, with the dramatic leaves providing the main attraction.

Grow in partial to full shade in moist, fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil in a sheltered position; it is hardy to RHS H4 (-10 to -5°C).
