Pinguicula ‘Guatemala’ is a hybrid butterwort, a carnivorous plant valued for its delicate flowers and compact rosette of sticky leaves that trap tiny insects. It belongs to the genus Pinguicula, which contains many attractive carnivorous species from Europe and the Americas.

🌸 Appearance

  1. Leaves: Smooth, light-green, slightly glossy leaves arranged in a flat rosette. The surface is sticky to catch small insects like fungus gnats.
  2. Flowers: Usually lavender to pale purple, held on slender stems above the leaves.
  3. Size: Rosettes typically 5–10 cm across.
  4. Bloom season: Often spring to early summer, though conditions can trigger multiple flowering periods.

Keep compost moist by placing on a saucer of rainwater. Allow the water to empty before watering. It enjoys a nice bright windowsill, west or east facing is best.
