Ophiopogon chingii P11

Ophiopogon chingii – Dwarf Mondo Grass

Ophiopogon chingii is a charming, low-growing evergreen perennial, prized for its dense tufts of fine, narrow, deep green leaves that curl and arch gracefully, creating a soft, grass-like appearance. In summer, delicate white to pale lilac, bell-shaped flowers are followed by striking turquoise-blue berries.

Growing approximately 10–20cm tall and spreading 20–40cm over time, this slow-growing perennial forms an attractive, low carpet of foliage. It thrives in partial shade or dappled sunlight, preferring fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil that is acidic to neutral. Established plants tolerate some seasonal dryness.

An excellent choice for woodland gardens, shady borders, Japanese-style gardens, containers and edging pathways, Ophiopogon chingii combines beautifully with miniature hostas, ferns and other shade-loving perennials. Its delicate evergreen foliage provides year-round texture without requiring regular maintenance.
