Nepenthes sanguinea – is a hardy highlander from the mountains of Malaysia. With striking pitchers that range from sunset orange to deep red (hence sanguinea, meaning “bloody”), it’s a real showstopper. It can reach 60–90 cm tall (2–3 feet) with a similar spread, so give it some room to strut its stuff.

This species enjoys bright, indirect light, high humidity, and moist, airy soil—keep it warm, but not scorching, and it’ll reward you with a jungle-worthy display of insect traps. It’s one of the easiest Nepenthes to grow, so perfect for beginners who want drama without the diva behaviour.

Fun fact: its pitchers aren’t just pretty—they’re perfectly designed bug traps. It’s like having a natural pest control unit, but with flair. It's "bloody" marvellous!
