A very decorative half hardy banana with vivid maroon-red striped leaves that last through yge season until the first frosts. It is hardy to -5c so harfy in milder areas but will need protection from frost in colder areas. A generous covering with horticultural fleece should suffice in most areas, in colder areas it may be safer to bring under cover.
It can grow to 3-4 metres in height, developing a thick trunk. Grow amongst Dahlias, Cannas etc to give a tropical look
Growing moisture retentive soil in sun or partial shade.
