The Yellow Waxbill hails from Korean (surprise!) woodlands. It grows to around 90-120cm (3-4') and is shrubby with purple stems. It is more often grown as a foliage plant with luxuriant, maple shaped leaves. It produces the waxy yellow clusters from late August through to late September. It is a slightly taller plant than the more commonly available Kirengeshoma palmata , it is also hardier, so a good choice for those areas that have particularly harsh winters. For best results allow it to spread in your shade or woodland garden
