Hosta 'Wu La La'

Hosta ‘Wu-La-La’ – Giant Variegated Plantain Lily

Hosta ‘Wu-La-La’ is a magnificent deciduous, shade-loving perennial, prized for its enormous, heart-shaped blue-green leaves edged with contrasting apple-green to golden-green margins.

A variegated sport of the famous ‘Empress Wu’, its thick, deeply veined foliage forms an impressive architectural mound, while tall stems carry attractive pale lavender-purple, bell-shaped flowers in early to midsummer.

Growing approximately 90–120cm tall and 150–180cm wide when fully mature, this giant hosta thrives in partial to full shade, preferring fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.

An outstanding specimen for woodland gardens, large shady borders and planting alongside ferns and other shade-loving perennials, ‘Wu-La-La’ provides spectacular foliage interest from spring until autumn.
