Hosta ‘Snake Eyes’ – Variegated Plantain Lily

Hosta ‘Snake Eyes’ is a striking, medium-sized Hosta, prized for its unusual and beautifully patterned foliage. The broad, heart-shaped, dark green leaves feature contrasting pale green to golden centres, dramatically outlined by distinctive, irregular white streaks. Slightly twisted leaf tips add further character, while upright stems bearing pale lavender-purple, bell-shaped flowers appear in summer.

Growing approximately 35–45cm tall, this clump-forming hosta thrives in partial to full shade, preferring moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Protection from strong afternoon sunshine helps preserve its attractive variegation.

An outstanding choice for woodland gardens, shady borders, containers and naturalistic planting, ‘Snake Eyes’ provides striking foliage contrast throughout the growing season. Particularly effective alongside ferns, blue-leaved hostas and other shade-loving perennials.
