Hosta 'Ruffled Mouse Ears'

Hosta ‘Ruffled Mouse Ears’ – Miniature Blue Plantain Lily

Hosta ‘Ruffled Mouse Ears’ is a charming miniature Hosta prized for its thick, rounded, blue-green leaves with beautifully rippled and frilled margins. A distinctive sport of the popular ‘Blue Mouse Ears’. Upright stems bearing attractive lavender-purple, bell-shaped flowers appear in midsummer.

Growing approximately 15–20cm tall and 30–40cm wide, this exceptionally hardy, clump-forming hosta thrives in partial to full shade, preferring moist, fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Its thick, substantial leaves provide some resistance to slug and snail damage.

An excellent choice for shady rock gardens, miniature woodland gardens, containers, troughs and the front of shaded borders, ‘Ruffled Mouse Ears’ provides beautiful foliage texture and unusual character. Particularly attractive alongside miniature ferns and other small shade-loving perennials.
