Geranium macrorrhizum 'White-ness' RHS AGM P9

Geranium macrorrhizum ‘White-Ness’ – White Cranesbill

Geranium macrorrhizum ‘White-Ness’ is a hardy, evergreen to semi-evergreen perennial with pure white flowers in late spring and early summer, held above softly lobed, aromatic, pale-green leaves.

Growing approximately 30–50 cm tall and spreading 60–100 cm wide, it forms dense ground cover that helps suppress weeds beneath trees and shrubs.

Grow in sun, partial shade or full shade in moderately fertile, well-drained soil. It tolerates dry shade once established, making it particularly useful for difficult spots beneath trees. Water while establishing and avoid waterlogged ground. Trim spent flower stems and tired leaves to encourage fresh growth.

An RHS Award of Garden Merit winner, ‘White-Ness’ brings fresh white flowers and lasting foliage to woodland borders, path edges and cottage gardens, combining beautifully with ferns and other shade-loving perennials.
