Erythronium californicum ‘White Beauty’ – White Fawn Lily

Erythronium californicum ‘White Beauty’ is an exquisite deciduous, spring-flowering bulbous perennial, prized for its elegant, nodding creamy-white flowers with gracefully swept-back petals and distinctive reddish-brown markings at the throat. Appearing in spring, the delicate flowers rise above attractive, broad, glossy green leaves with subtle marbled markings.

Growing approximately 25–30cm tall, it develops into attractive clumps, making it ideal for naturalising beneath deciduous trees and shrubs. Grow in partial or dappled shade in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, avoiding prolonged summer drought.

An outstanding choice for woodland gardens, shady borders, naturalistic planting and spring bulb collections, ‘White Beauty’ combines beautifully with ferns, hostas and other shade-loving perennials.

RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM) – awarded in 1993.
