Ensete 'Maurelli' 2 litre

A gorgeous, fast growing ornamental banana with rich Burgundy red leaves ( especially the underside) and stems. Give them a fertile, moisture retentive soil and full sun or partial shade. They will grow up to 4m high, especially those wintered outside (only in very mild areas, wrap with thick layers of horticultural fleece and mulch the base heavily with well rotted manure or compost. The soil will have to be well drained, definitely no standing water!). They can be overwinter inside by cutting down in the autumn, potting, and keeping frost free indoors until late Spring when it can be planted out. They can be grown in pots all year round, just bring under cover in late autumn.
