Dryopteris erythrosora (Autumn Fern)
Who says ferns can’t do colour? Dryopteris erythrosora bursts onto the scene with young fronds in shades of copper, rose, and gold—like autumn colour arrived early and decided to stay awhile.
Growing to a neat 45–60cm tall and wide, this semi-evergreen beauty thrives in part to full shade with moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Tough, tidy, and surprisingly cheerful, it brightens up woodland borders, shady corners, or even containers. Low-maintenance and reliably fabulous, it’s the fern that brings the fireworks—without the noise.
A very easy fern to grow and one of our most popular ferns.
