Disporum sessile

Disporum sessile – Japanese Fairy Bells

Disporum sessile, is an elegant, shade-loving woodland perennial with graceful, arching stems, fresh green foliage and delicate spring flowers. In spring, clusters of slender, creamy-white, tubular bells, tipped with green, hang beneath the glossy, lance-shaped leaves. The flowers are followed by small berries that ripen to bluish-black in autumn. Slowly spreading through underground rhizomes, this unusual Japanese perennial develops into attractive, natural-looking colonies.
