Cyathea cooperi - Australian Tree Fern 1.3l
€9.95
Cyathea cooperi – the Australian tree fern that brings instant, Jurassic-scale drama to the garden. With a slender trunk that can eventually reach 3–6 m tall (in favourable climates) and a crown of arching, finely divided fronds stretching 2–3 m across, it creates a lush, tropical canopy effect.
Best grown in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil in partial shade and a sheltered position, protected from cold, drying winds. It thrives in mild, frost-free areas; in cooler climates, such as the island of Ireland, it requires winter protection or conservatory conditions. Consistent moisture at the root and crown is essential, particularly during the growing season.
Architectural and undeniably dramatic, it’s a statement plant for sheltered gardens where bold foliage is the main event. On the island of Ireland it can be successfully grown in a container and brought under cover over winter.
