Convallaria majalis 'Doreen' - Lily of the Valley RHS AGM P9

Convallaria majalis 'Doreen' (sometimes spelled 'Dorien') – Lily of the Valley is a superb selection prized for its larger, highly fragrant white bell-shaped flowers, which are held prominently above the foliage on sturdy stems.

Growing to around 10–15cm tall and 30cm wide, it flowers in spring and was originally selected for the cut-flower trade, with blooms that are particularly good for cutting.

Grow in partial to full shade in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil, where it will gradually form a dense carpet beneath trees and shrubs. Extremely hardy and easy to grow, ‘Doreen’ is ideal for woodland gardens, shady borders, naturalising and planting beside paths where its beautiful fragrance can be enjoyed.
