Brunnera macrophylla – Siberian Bugloss

Brunnera macrophylla, commonly known as Siberian Bugloss or Great Forget-Me-Not, is a beautiful, hardy deciduous perennial, prized for its delicate sprays of brilliant sky-blue, forget-me-not-like flowers in spring. The charming flowers rise above attractive, large, heart-shaped, deep green leaves with a slightly rough texture, forming a lush mound of foliage.

Growing approximately 30–45cm tall and 40–50cm wide, it thrives in partial to full shade,in fertile, well-drained soil. It tolerates acidic, neutral and alkaline conditions, but benefits from protection against strong afternoon sunshine and prolonged drought.

An excellent choice for woodland gardens, shady borders, ground cover and planting beneath trees and shrubs, Brunnera macrophylla provides beautiful spring colour followed by attractive foliage. Particularly effective alongside hostas, ferns and other shade-loving perennials.
