Blechnum brasiliense - Brazilian Tree Fern RHS AGM 9cm
β¬6.00
Blechnum brasiliense, the Brazilian dwarf tree fern, is a wonderfully dramatic foliage plant that brings instant rainforest flair to the garden. Typically reaching 60β90 cm tall (occasionally taller in ideal conditions), it forms a striking rosette of shiny, leathery fronds. New growth emerges in vivid bronze-red before maturing to deep, lustrous green β a bit like the plant is blushing its way into adulthood.
It thrives in partial shade, in moist, rich, well-drained soil, and appreciates a sheltered, humid spot. Protect it from harsh frost, as itβs a touch tender β more diva than daredevil β but with a little winter care, it rewards you handsomely.
Interesting fact: In its native habitat, this fern can develop a short trunk with age, giving it the look of a pint-sized tree fern.
