Athyrium vidalii is a bold Japanese fern with dramatic, deep red-purple stems and finely divided green fronds that bring instant woodland drama.

Reaching about 45–60cm tall and wide, it forms a lush, upright clump perfect for shady borders, woodland gardens.

Thrives in part to full shade with moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil.
